Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive an estimate of the expected cost of your care before your first session.

Who this applies to

A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is for clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance (self-pay). If you are using insurance that I am in-network with, your out-of-pocket cost is determined by your insurance benefits, not by the estimate described here — see the Insurance & Fees page for in-network details.

What the estimate includes

Your GFE will include the expected charges for services I reasonably anticipate, based on a typical course of outpatient therapy. Rates are listed below and on the Insurance & Fees page.

ServiceRate
Free 15-minute consultation$0
Initial session (60 minutes)$220
Therapy session (45 minutes)$185
Therapy session (60 minutes)$220

The total estimate depends on how many sessions you and I expect. For ongoing weekly therapy, the estimate reflects a typical cadence; actual frequency and duration are decided collaboratively and may change.

How to request an estimate

Under the law, I must provide a written GFE:

  • When you schedule a service at least 3 business days in advance.
  • Any time you ask for one, even if you are not yet scheduled.

To request an estimate, call (984) 234-5500 or send a message through the contact form. I will provide your estimate within the timeframes set by federal law.

Your right to dispute a bill

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. You have 120 calendar days from the date of the original bill to start a dispute. Starting a dispute will not affect the quality of care you receive.
